Great job to all our swimmers on the first two weeks of practice! Please read as there are a lot of updates. Reminder there is no practice today or tomorrow as school wraps up. Morning practice begins next week following Memorial Day starting Tuesday, May 30th. The schedule for our 3rd week of practice is below.

Tuesday May 30th – Thursday, June 1st

5-6 yrs. 8:30am to 9:00am
7-8 yrs. 9:00am to 9:45am
9-10 yrs. 9:45am to 10:30am
11 and older 10:30am to 11:30am

Friday, June 2nd: Fun Friday for all swimmers from 10am-11:30am

Afternoon Practice Make Ups

Next week will be our first week of offering a make-up afternoon practice. Due to Memorial Day on Monday, we will start on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30. This practice time is specifically for swimmers who cannot make our morning practice time due to extenuating circumstances so the signups will be limited. Our Sign-Up Genius for afternoon practice Sign Ups will be sent out tomorrow (Friday) at 8am via Remind Text. Make sure you are signed up for Remind Texts to receive afternoon sign ups (Text 81010 with message @invswim).

Swim Meet #1

Our first swim meet is one week away! Thursday, June 1st we will have an away meet vs Pennbrooke Pines! Please plan to arrive at 4:45pm for warm ups at 5pm. Address: 390 Tumbling Creek Drive, Alpharetta, GA 30005

Swim Meet Sign Up

PLEASE sign up for the swim meet on our website ASAP:https://invernessstingrays.swimtopia.com/swim_meets(Click on Signup Calendar under Meets & Events)

Directions:

• Click the green MEET ENTRY tab, and then click the green Edit tab under your athletes' names.
• For each of your athletes, select an option from the drop down list next to their names.
  • (Undeclared)
  • Attending
  • Not Attending

• Click Save to record your choices.

Please be sure you indicate if your swimmer is swimming in the meet by Tuesday 5/30 at noon. This allows time for the coaches to put the line up together. If you know in advance that your child cannot make the meet, PLEASE, complete the meet signup that your child is not attending by noon Tuesday before the meet. If you do not declare that your swimmer is attending, we will assume your child is NOT attending and will not put them in the swim meet.

A swim meet is one big, giant puzzle, and when that puzzle loses pieces 30 minutes before the meet is supposed to start, it not only is a race to see if the puzzle can be remolded in a matter of minutes, but when your child has been placed in the first heat, the rules state that no one can take their place after the exchange of lineups has taken place on Wednesday, thereby making the team forfeit points. Accidents and illnesses happen, but if you know your child can’t make a meet in advance, please let me know ASAP!

Volunteer Signups

PLEASE sign up for a volunteer position while signing up your child for the swim meet. All swim families are asked to volunteer for 5 positions throughout the swim season.

Swim Lessons

If you are interested in additional swim lessons, please reach out to Coach Sara. Many of our assistant coaches will being offering swim lessons starting next week.
